NEW BLOOM is re-launching our podcast, Radio New Bloom! This marks episode 13 and will be the first episode of the new season.

Episode 13 of Radio New Bloom features an interview conducted by Nick Haggerty of the News Lens International with Singaporean political activist Roy Ngerng. Roy has been living in Taiwan for the last few years after being sued by the Singaporean prime minister, Lee Hsien Loong, for online writing investigating the Singaporean pension system. This resulted in Roy being unable to return to Singapore and owing a debt of S$150,000, which is over 3 million NT, to Lee.

Since moving to Taiwan, Roy has continued his prolific output writing on political and social issues, whether with regards to Singapore or Taiwan. Episode 13 of Radio New Bloom, then, features an in-depth profile of Roy.

Radio New Bloom is a podcast covering topical events and interviewing activists, artists, public intellectuals, and others, in order to connect Taiwan and the international world. As always, we’d like to thank LTK Commune for allowing us to use their song “Good Night, Taiwan” as part of the podcast!
