Nicholas K.L. Chieng was born and raised in the United States by two ethnically Han Southeast Asian immigrant parents, and currently resides in Taipei. As a queer, first-generation, Asian American high school and university graduate, he naturally became interested in ethnic studies and sociology. He graduated from Soka University of America in Liberal Arts and Latin American Studies with a focus on political economy and history. He is constantly learning how to make deep work and how to write about his reality and resistance.
