Kevin Nian-kai Wang

Kevin Nian-kai Wang

Born in Taiwan but raised during his formative years in Vancouver, Kevin is currently active as both a professional translator and baroque cellist, and speaks English, Mandarin, German and French (in that order of proficiency), as well as a smattering of Italian, Spanish and Latin. He served as the main English-language translator inside the Legislative Yuan during the Sunflower Movement, and also proudly counts among his works the English subtitles for the documentary Su Beng: The Revolutionist. In addition to the occasional translation for New Bloom, he is currently working on a series of translations of essays on Su Beng, and has recently completed a performance tour of the entire set of Bach cello suites on baroque cello, possibly a first in Taiwan.

王年愷，出生於台灣，但小時候在溫哥華長大，目前身兼專職譯者、巴洛克大提琴家，並且會說多種語言，包括英文、中文、德文和法文（英文比中文好），加上一點點義大利文、西班牙文和拉丁文。他在太陽花學運期間擔任立法院議場內英文翻譯主編，在多種已上市的譯作中，最自豪的莫過於史明紀錄片《革命進行式》的英文字幕翻譯。目前進行中的翻譯計畫，包括《實踐哲學：青年讀史明》的英譯；另外，他近期亦剛剛完成一系列巡迴表演，以巴洛克大提琴演奏全本巴哈大提琴無伴奏組曲（可能是台灣史上第一人）。
